A Volkswagen Graveyard

Let’s have a moment of silence.
I have seen too many of these car graveyards (shedding a tear), and many of them are almost exclusively VW’s. Why is this? There really is no shortage of Beetles for restoration projects.

I own a 1974 Super Beetle that I am in the process of restoring. I came across your site to find it very interesting. And, I was interested in finding the location the the VW grave yard.
I am looking to purchase original bumpers for the beetle and possible other things if need so.
I would greatly appreciate your assistance in this matter. Thank you very much.

Nancy, the graveyard in the post here was in Virginia, but I’ve seen them here in Ohio too. In fact, I think that every state I’ve been in has had a VW graveyard. I couldn’t really tell you where to look, other than to just keep your eyes open. Usually these places on on the highway, and look deserted.

I’m sure there is, but I couldn’t be positive. I bet there is one of these graveyards in every state in America, and probably almost every country of the world. I’ve even seen places like the Beetle Graveyard in Jamaica.
