Both my brothers drove this car in the late 60's. It rolled over in the median one time on the interstate when a semi passed it. When I got it the fenders were all messed up. Being the 60's my girlfriend and future wife decided to paint it. With artist brushed and flocked flourscent paint for the hood inserts. When the car finally died, it sat by the house for 6 months and then one day, from the window in the TV room, I saw it rolling down the road. It went out into the street and hit a brand new mercury marquis. Finally, a student at WV State, wanting a commuter car came and looked at it. He was able to do what we could not for 6 months. That is get it started. He traded us a 1959 Corvette (it's true) that was just as buggered up as the VW. Some one had installed a 2 speed pushbutton shifter in this vette. Seriously.
